HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - The driver in a late-night car chase appears to have several pending cases in both Madison and Limestone county.
Aron Juan Butler has charges pending in Madison County for attempting to elude police and had been arrested just two weeks ago by the Madison Police Department for manufacturing a controlled substance.
Butler was driving a vehicle on Wednesday night when he led police on a high-speed chase that spanned over two counties and lasted over an hour.
The chase started at a checkpoint Huntsville police had set up at Memorial Parkway and Winchester Road, according to authorities.
From there, it went more than 15 miles north to Bobo Section Road in Hazel Green.
The driver took a dogleg down Butter and Egg Road to Charity Lane, then they hit spike strips on Ready Section Road to try to get to Old Railroad Bed Road. They zig-zagged around on McKee Road in Limestone County.
The chase ended on Concord Road when they drove the truck into someone's front yard with deputies hot on their tail. When authorities surrounded the vehicle, they found that there was alcohol in the truck.
Police arrested Aron Juan Butler and a woman. The woman had warrants out for her arrest and Butler has charges pending.
Authorities said this isn't the first time the man has done something like this.
Twenty patrol cars with K-9 units responded to the scene on Concord Road.
Butler was booked into the Huntsville Metro Jail but is now free on bond.
