MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - An employee with the Madison County Sheriff's Office has been arrested for promoting prison contraband.
According to Sheriff Blake Dorning, Madison County sheriff's investigators arrested Jacquenette Allen Saturday morning.
Allen has been employed as a detention officer for the Madison County Sheriff's Office for a year hand a half and has been suspended without pay.
Detention Center Chief Steve Morrison said Allen's arrest was the result of a sting operation. He said investigators had information she was showing up to work with marijuana packaged for sale and cigarettes.
Morrison believes she may have been able to get through with contraband while on the job in the past.
Allen was booked into the Madison County Jail on $10,000 bond.
