Storms cause damage, power outages, school delays

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A storm rolled through north Alabama late Sunday night into Monday morning and caused some damage.

There were several trees down blocking roads on Monday morning. The roads in Madison County have all been cleared.

There was also a single-vehicle wreck on Pratt Avenue at the base of Monte Sano.

There has been a power outage reported in DeKalb County. Widespread outages are affecting parts of Henagar, Rainsville, and Grove Oak. Crews are working on repairs.

Athens Utilities crews began work to make repairs and restore power to approximately 1,600 customers early Monday morning. Less than 450 customers remain without power as of 6:30 a.m.

Limestone County schools and Marshall Christian School in Albertville were also delayed due to storm debris blocking roads and power outages in the area.
