RUSSELLVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A man is being held without bond in Russellville after allegedly burglarizing and assaulting a man in his home on Sunday.
Russellville police responded to the 1300 Block of Jackson Avenue on a burglary/assault call on Sunday.
When officers arrived, the victim and witnesses told them the victim had been assaulted by Raymond Perez. The victim said Perez was armed with a handgun and hit him in the face with it before fleeing the scene.
Later Sunday afternoon, Perez was stopped in Winston County by Alabama State Troopers and taken into custody. He was returned to Russellville where he faces burglary and assault charges.
He is currently being held without bond on these charges and will have a hearing to revoke his probation from a previous assault conviction.
