MCSO and Governor Bentley offer rewards for information on cold case

On July 12, 2010

was found dead in his home located off of Lariat Drive in Harvest.

Deputies were called to the home after Wenger's employees called the sheriff's department and asked officers to check on Wenger, who hadn't been heard from all weekend.

Wenger owned a home-based business called Wenger Tree Service.

His next door neighbors described him as difficult to get along with, saying they've exchanged words before over property lines.

Governor Bentley signed a proclamation that offered a $5,000 reward to any private citizen who has information that could lead to an arrest and conviction of anyone responsible for his death.

Sheriff Dorning with the Madison County Sheriff's Office also announced that they would offer am additional $10,000 reward for the same. That would make the reward for the information at a total of $15,000.
