Kitchen Cops: Seven inspections, four low performers

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - There are seven health inspections in this week's Kitchen Cops report, including four low performers.

And inspector reports that one restaurant had roaches.

The first stop for the Kitchen Cops is the Panda III Chinese Food Restaurant in Arab. The Marshall County Health Department handed them an 84. One of the violations involved keeping track of when stored food was cooked.

The inspector said there were several food items in the cooler without date marks to indicate when the food had been cooked, and when it would expire. Also, the soda nozzles needed to be cleaned.

Sakkio Japan in the Madison Square Mall food court scored the same this time as they did last time, a 75, making them a back-to-back Kitchen Cops low performer. The inspector reports finding roaches, and they say Sakkio Japan had damaged food containers, which can lead to cross contamination.

Momma's Roadhouse Grill in Falkville scored an 84. The inspector says there was some food that wasn't at the required temperature, and that a can opener blade was dirty.

The Quik Mart along Highway 72 in Tuscumbia scored an 83. A Colbert County health inspector reports raw eggs were sitting out at 37 degrees above the temperature required to prevent bacterial growth in cold-holding food.

Now, this week's Kitchen Cops High Performers. The Blackberry Trail Grille at the golf course in Florence scored a 99. A 98 for Phil Sandoval's Mexican Restaurante in Huntsville. And a 98 for the Quizno's at the Mapco in Owens Cross Roads.
