ALBERTVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Two people are in custody after gunfire during a home invasion last week in Albertville.

Police believe the victim may have known some of his attackers.

Dalton Wayne Taylor, 19, and 24 year old Nathaniel Dewayne Johnson, both of Albertville, face charges of first-degree robbery and shooting into an occupied dwelling.

Albertville police say it happened at a residence in a duplex at 105 Rose Road Jan. 7.

The homeowner told police he answered a knock on the door around 3:15 a.m. the morning in question.

When he opened the door, three people entered and a gunshot was fired.

The homeowner then found he way out the back door and ran from the scene as more shots were fired.

When the event was over, nothing of large value was reported missing.

"On the report they said there was a backpack taken with some assorted unknown items," said Assistant Police Chief Jamie Smith. "Right now though, and during the investigation, we think the motive was robbery, looking for drugs."

The search for the third suspect continues.

Taylor and Johnson were transported to the Marshall County Jail on $100,000 bond each.
