Theft suspects caught on video turn themselves in

FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - Two people turned themselves in after tens of thousands of people viewed surveillance video of a theft at a Florence sports memorabilia store.

Daniel E. Baskins, 37, and Sandy K. Baskins, 37, both of Florence, were arrested when the surrendered to Florence police on Tuesday.

On Dec. 19, Big Al's Merchandise and Apparel posted a video of an alleged theft on Facebook after the crime was reported to police. The video was viewed more than 39,000 times and tips poured in to the business and police, leading warrants to be issued for the Baskinses.

The couple turned themselves in at the Florence Police Department late Tuesday. They were charged with third degree theft and posted bond a short time later.
