Man in serious condition after shooting at Riverchase Community Center

FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - Florence police responded to Riverchase Community Center at 812 West Mobile Street after receiving a call that shots were fired around 3:30 a.m.Thursday morning.

Upon arrival, officers were informed that a 34-year-old man had been shot multiple times inside the Riverchase Community Center. He was taken by a private vehicle to ECM where he underwent surgery and is in serious condition.

According to a witness, a man entered the center wearing a mask and fired several shots, hitting the victim several times.

Officers found several bullet holes inside Riverchase Community Center.

Police are asking anyone who has information about the shooting to contact the police department, Crime Stoppers, or text a tip anonymously to 274637 using the keyword "FPDTIP" plus your message.

Police say this is the second shooting in the past two years that has happened at Riverchase Community Center. The previous one was on July 5, 2013.
