HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - The Huntsville Police Department responded to a domestic dispute on Willowbrook Drive SE around 9 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived, the man involved in the domestic dispute barricaded inside with another person.

Officers stated that the man was making suicidal threats and made threats towards officers.

The man was seen through a window armed with a pistol that was pointed at the officers.

Officers fired a shot at the man, allowing them to enter into the residence and detain him.

Neighbors said they saw the man get wheeled out on a stretcher with a bloody shoulder.

"The friends I was with heard gunshots and we came outside." said neighbor Richard Long. "There was like 20 cops outside here with assault rifles it was pretty crazy."

The man was taken to the Huntsville Hospital by HEMSI with non-life threatening injuries.

This is fourth shooting involving a Huntsville police officer this year alone.
