STEVENSON, AL (WAFF) - Jackson County officials said one man is dead and another is behind bars after a domestic dispute on Thanksgiving Day.

David Hutchins of Stevenson learned his wife was cheating on him with his friend, Christopher Timberlake.

Timberlake was visiting family on Milltown Circle in Stevenson. After visiting family, he stopped by the Hutchins house Thursday evening at around 8 p.m. Neighbors said the two men got into a fight and Hutchins shot Timberlake multiple times with a shotgun.

Witnesses said it looked like Timberlake was shot in the head.

They also said Hutchins' 11-year-old daughter came running to their house and told them her dad had just killed a man.

"When I got to the house, he was lying on the front porch." said neighbor Willy Howard. "Hutchins' wife was trying to give him CPR."

Timberlake's wife, Nicole Timberlake, said her husband was a good father.

"He worked and helped take care of the kids." Nicole Timberlake said.

This is the first murder in Jackson County this year.

"They are just devastated. His wife and his kids are all devastated." said Howard. "It was just a terrible thing to happen, ya know, and sad. He's a hard working young man as a matter of fact today is his birthday."

Investigators said Hutchins drove to the police department and confessed to Stevenson police. He is currently in Jackson County Jail.
