HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Huntsville police responded to a shooting at 3005 Holmes Ave. on Friday afternoon.

Witnesses at the scene said they heard two gunshots outside of the gas station.

Police officers roped off the area with caution tape.

One person was shot and suffered life-threatening-injuries. A name has not been released and there is no word on a suspect.

Police Captain JesHenry Malone said the suspect is still at large and police are "not exactly sure who he is." The victim is at Huntsville Hospital.

A woman at the gas station at the time of the shooting drove the victim to the hospital. She said she was inside the gas station when the shooting happened.

She said the victim came back in the station and told her he had been shot. She called 911 but was unsure of the address of the gas station, so she drove the victim to the hospital herself.

"It wasn't good," the woman said. "It wasn't good at all. He was bleeding from the mouth and I just told him to keep talking to me."
