MORGAN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - An arrest and murder charges brings closure to a family that has spent more than three years searching for answers.

The family of the woman

is speaking out.

Murder victim Mary Carrithers' family talked about the arrest of her ex-husband, Charles Carrithers.

Amal, Mary's sister, didn't want her last name used but she says she wants the world to know about her sister.

Amal says she'll never forget the last time in 2011 she saw her sister and the years spent searching for answers.

She says she was hurt but relieved when investigators told her the body had been found in Morgan County in October.

She says she's glad suspected killer Charles Carrithers is behind bars, but she says investigators tell her this investigation isn't over yet.

The remains of Mary Carrithers were found in Morgan County and Charles Carrithers is charged with her murder.

According to court documents, investigators with the Madison County Sheriff's Office believe Charles Carrithers killed his estranged wife Mary by breaking her neck or "some other means to be determined by forensic examination."

Investigators found her remains in a wooded area off in Morgan County.

Mary was reported missing in April 2011 by her sister. She says she's glad justice is finally being served.

Charles Carrithers remains in jail on a $750,000 bond.

So far, no court date has been set in his case.
