BOAZ, AL (WAFF) - Two people are now in custody after seriously injuring a man during a home invasion Tuesday in Boaz.

Police said they found items with the defendants that were taken from the victim's home.

32-year-old Jason Milford Towns and 29-year-old Deanna Michelle Jenkins are now in the county jail on charges of robbery, burglary, and assault all in the first degree as well as theft of property and fraudulent use of a credit card.

The incident happened on Bethsadia Road shortly after 7 a.m.

Police were notified after 61-year-old Issac Leon Baker arrived at a Boaz hospital with serious head injuries.

Investigators said they learned through family members that items from the home had been taken.

Leads came in and that led to the discovery of some of the items and the two suspects.

Police said the victim knew his attackers.

"Had been to the home before and knew how to get into the home without waking him up," said Boaz Police Department Investigator Josh Gaskin.  He was actually in bed at the time that this occurred.  According to his statement, he was awakened while being beaten in the head with some type of object."

The suspects are each being held on a $75,000 bond.
