Shoplifting suspect allegedly pulls knife on security guard

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - Decatur police said a shoplifting suspect pulled a knife on a security guard Sunday night.

Michael Keith Sain is charged with first-degree robbery.

The incident happened at the Walmart on Spring Avenue around 7:15 p.m.

Police said Sain was trying to walk out of the store hiding merchandise. When a store security guard tried to stop them, he kept walking.

Investigators said Sain pulled a knife on the guard when he followed him.

No one was hurt, and the security guard was able to hold Sain down until police arrived.

He's being held on $10,000 bond.
