Limestone Co. Sheriff's office rolls out new Computer Aided Dispatch system
LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The Limestone County Sheriff's office has a new tool to put the bad guys behind bars.
Sheriff Mike Blakely announced on Friday the roll out of their Computer Aided Dispatch system. The system replaces numerous pen-and-paper duties performed by dispatchers, allowing for quicker response times for deputies to crime scenes.
"It's something that can be very important to the officer's safety," said Blakely. "It could also be very important by having information that we may be able to help to save someone's life."
This is the second of a three phrase information technology project. The first phase, the Jail Management System, was implemented in 2013 and the third, the Records Management System, is still being developed.
