DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - A Morgan County jury found a man guilty of two counts of murder.
Darrius Sherrod was accused of killing 19-year-old Matthew Jackson four years ago.
Sherrod testified in his own defense on Friday. He claimed he shot Jackson in self-defense during an argument.
The jury was handed the case Friday night. Deliberations continue Monday until just before 3:30 p.m., when they delivered their guilty verdicts against Sherrod.
Following the jury's verdict, Sherrod was sentenced to life in prison.
