LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The Shoney's on Florence Boulevard in Florence scored an 84 with the Lauderdale County Health Department. The inspector reported finding food held below the 41 degree temperature required to prevent bacterial growth in cold holding food. Shoney's also lost points because the ice machine needed cleaning.
The Raceway on the 1100 block of South Memorial Parkway in Huntsville scored a 79. A Madison County health inspector reported the inside of the ice machine was dirty and that ice in the machine was in contact with a dirty surface.
The Jiffy Food Store on Highway 72 in Athens scored an 82 with the Limestone County Health Department. The inspector reported chicken tenders were nearly twenty degrees below the required hot holding temperature.
The McDonald's in the 1500 block of Highway 72 in Athens scored an 89, five points better than last time. That is good enough to get off of the health department's reinspection schedule.
The Ruby Tuesday in Athens did the same, as the restaurant rose by six points over the previous inspection, scoring a 90.
