LAWRENCE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Authorities in Lawrence County arrested two people on theft charges Wednesday.

According to Sheriff Gene Mitchell, the offenders posed as house cleaners to gain access to a home on County Road 345 in Trinity. Investigators said the homeowner let them in and paid for their services but that items were missing afterward. Authorities said the items were later found at a pawn shop.

Deputies arrested Justin Eugene James, 23, and Laura Faye Mallard, 29, both of Trinity.

James and Mallard face theft charges. Both were taken to the Lawrence County Jail on a $2,500 bond.
