MADISON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The Madison County Sheriff's Department is being targeted by a newly filed lawsuit, claiming several deputies ganged up to beat up a man then cover it up.

Robert Bryant claimed he got into a bar fight with a deputy back in August 2012. Two weeks later, Bryant claimed he was pulled over by the same deputy, who then attacked him inside his car.

He claimed additional deputies joined the attack, and that he was tasered. Now, Bryant said members of the department, including Sheriff Blake Dorning, were involved in covering up the attack. Bryant is seeking unspecified damages.

The Madison County Sheriff's Department declined to comment.
