LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - More charges are expected to be filed against a woman accused of burglarizing the homes of elderly people.
Lauderdale County authorities arrested Carolyn Watson and charged her with two counts of burglary.
Investigators said Watson used the claim that she was with a home-health company to get inside the residences. Other times, authorities said she would use her son by saying he needed to go to the bathroom.
At one home, according to investigators, Watson walked into a home unannounced. "Keep your doors locked if possible," advised Travis Clemmons with the sheriff's department.
Watson allegedly stole medicine, money and purses from the homes. More than a dozen victims have been reported but investigators believe there could be more.
Watson was booked into the Lauderdale County Detention Center. Bond has not been set. If you think you or a loved one may have been targeted by Watson, you are asked to call the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Department.
