Man accidentally shoots girlfriend, self in bed

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - A Decatur couple was treated and released from the hospital after an accidental shooting Sunday morning.
It happened at a home on George Street around 11 a.m.
Investigators said a man was preparing to clean a handgun while sitting in bed with his girlfriend when the gun went off. A bullet struck the man in the hand, and then hit the woman in the leg.
The couple's wounds were not-life-threatening. Police ruled the shooting accidental.
