1 dead in Morgan Co. accidental shooting

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - One person was killedafter an accidental shooting in Decatur, according to police.

Emergency crews responded around 12:30 a.m. Saturday to the 1500 blockof Seton Avenue SE.

Authorities said 21-year-oldColt Iverson suffered from an apparent gunshot wound and was transported toDecatur Morgan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

During an investigation,officers determined that Iverson accidentally shot himself.

Authorities said the bodywill be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensics for an autopsy.Police said no foul play is suspected but the investigation is ongoing.
