DEKALB COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - DeKalb County investigators are looking into a Wednesday morning shooting that killed a man at a mobile home park.
It happened on County Road 77 in the Portersville community north of Collinsville. Investigators said a disagreement between a landlord and a tenant provoked the shooting, and that the landlord died.
DeKalb County authorities were on the scene shortly after the 10 a.m. shooting. The body of the landlord was removed from the scene by the coroner some two hours later. The names of both parties have not been released.
Sheriff Jimmy Harris said it is unclear whether charges will be filed. He said his office is consulting with the district attorney and said it may later be presented to a grand jury.
Details concerning the disagreement that prompted the shooting have not been released. The body has been taken to the Department of Forensic Sciences for an autopsy.
