Appeals court rules on rapist given no jail time

LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The Alabama Criminal Court of Appeals issued a ruling calling for the resentencing of a Limestone County man convicted of rape.

A jury convicted Austin Clem of rape earlier this year.

The judge sentenced Clem to no jail time. The Limestone County District Attorney appealed that decision.

The judge issued an order to resentence Clem before the higher court issued a ruling.

A new sentencing date has not been set.
