Human remains found in storage unit leads investigators to Jackson Co.

SCOTTSBORO, AL (WAFF) - A woman reported missing in Delaware turned up dead in a storage warehouse in Kentucky. The prime suspect was from North Alabama.

Kentucky authorities were then led to Jackson County where Robert Wood was last known to be. But when they got there, it turned out he had died of natural causes.

Wood's storage units were recently auctioned off. The winner was a Kentucky man, but when he opened the door to see what he had won, he found human remains.

Tipsters called police about the human remains, and an investigation was launched.

Sheriff's officials in Jackson County are cooperating in the Kentucky murder investigation. They said Wood died earlier this year and was buried in Scottsboro.
