HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - With the recent Supreme Court decisions about California's Proposition 8 and striking down the Defense of Marriage Act, a Huntsville group is educating people about their rights.

Saturday, GLBT Advocacy and Youth Services and the PFLAG Huntsville group conducted a community forum.

Organizers said it's a chance for everyone to ask questions about how the decisions will impact Alabama residents.

"It was a quality turnout with lots of good questions," said Executive Director of GLBT and Youth Services, James Robinson. "The information that was shared will go on and reach other people through the people that were here. These are the steps we take to build community and be an inclusive community and to celebrate diversity."

The forum was held at the Spirit of Cross Church.
