FLORENCE, AL (WAFF) - A Tennessee man is back in jail on child pornography charges after being out on bond for child abuse.
Matthew Thomas Haislip, 30, is charged with attempting to possess child pornography.
Haislip was arrested Wednesday by U.S. marshals after Florence police received a tip about where he was living. According to police, Haislip was living on Spurr Street in Florence when he was arrested on outstanding warrants from Wisconsin for sexual abuse of a child in September.
According to police, Haislip was accused of molesting a boy younger than 13-years-old various times during a three-year period.
Haislip was in the Lauderdale County Detention Center waiting to be transferred to Wisconsin when authorities said a package was sent to his residence on Spurr Street that contained child pornography.
According to investigators, a person living at the residence at the time brought the box to the Police Department. Police said the box was shipped to Haislip from England.
Warrants for Haislip's arrest were issued in February but he already was released on bond in Wisconsin.
Attempting to possess child pornography is a Class C felony punishable by 1-10 years in prison if convicted. Haislip is being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on bail totaling $5,000.
