Woman avoids jail time for child abuse

JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A Jackson County woman will avoid jail time after pleading guilty to child abuse.

Darlece Dalene Jenkins, who served as a custodian at Ider School at the time of her arrest last fall, was arrested for breaking her step-son's leg last fall.

The judge gave her eight years, but instead ordered that she serve four years of supervised probation and another year of community corrections.
