JACKSON COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - Rescue squads found a missing Scottsboro man's body on Tuesday morning after a four day search.

Michael Harden's body was found laying in the creek in Flat Rock at the Fabius Coal Mines, and Jackson County authorities have begun a death investigation.

They found him around 10 a.m. in a remote area about two miles off of County Road 81.

As many as 50 volunteers were out in the area searching. Sheriff Chuck Phillips said he's grateful for all the help because the area is so remote, making the search very difficult.

Phillips said Harden's family can now have closure.

Investigators said his cause of death is drowning, and a toxicology report is pending.
