Stolen vehicle crashes into building, 1 arrested

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - A juvenile received life-threatening injuries after a three car accident on Oakwood Avenue that caused one vehicle to crash into a funeral home.

Officers said a blue Dodge Journey was traveling westbound on Oakwood when it rear-ended a silver Toyota Avalon. The Avalon was then rear-ended by a grey Ford Escape. At some point, the Journey crashed into the Royal Funeral Home.

The driver of the Journey, a juvenile, fled the scene on foot.

One passenger in the Journey received life-threatening injuries. Two other passengers received non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Avalon, 43-year-old Ronda Milton, received minor injuries and was treated.

The driver of the Escape was not injured.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that the Journey was stolen.

The driver that fled later responded to Huntsville Hospital for treatment. He was arrested and charged with attempting to flee, two counts of assault, leaving the scene of the accident and receiving stolen property.
