Decatur police arrest 4 following search and car chase

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - Decatur Police arrested four people on drug charges following a search and subsequent chase.

Officials said they executed a search at a home on Douthit Street in Decatur. Police made contact with Thomas Ricks Jr., Keith Turner Jr. and LaThomas Tucker.

Officers reported Tucker attempted to flee in his truck when the police arrived. Police chased him through several yards. During the chase, he attempted to discard a large amount of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was apprehended shortly after.

After apprehending Tucker, police searched the residence and came in contact with Corbin Diggs and two females. After further investigation Turner and Diggs were found with marijuana.

Tucker, Diggs, Ricks and Tucker were arrested and transported to Morgan County Jail.

Ricks was charged with loitering, and his bond was set at $500.

Diggs was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana second degree. His bond was set at $500.

Turner was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana second degree and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond was set at $1000.

Tucker was charged with trafficking cocaine, reckless endangerment, unlawful possession of marijuana second degree driving while revoked, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and tampering with evidence. His bond was set at $7,500.
