Trial date set for Athens man charged with killing his grandmother

LIMESTONE COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - A trial date is set for the Limestone County man accused of killing his grandmother.

James Pigg is charged with the murder of Barbara Delaney.

Limestone County Sheriff's investigators said Pigg beat Delaney with a hammer and then shot her.

It happened at Delaney's home back in March.

Pigg will be in court July 31 for arraignment. His trial is set for December 3.
