Prostitution Ring Busted Across the Heart of the Valley

Police break up a prostitution ring that stretched all across the Heart of the Valley.

Five search warrants, several women detained for prostitution. The focus of their investigation was a business called Sparkle's Cleaning Service on Putman Drive in Huntsville, it's off University Boulevard, operating as an escort service but providing prostitution.

It's the result of a six month long investigation involving Madison, Morgan and Limestone County authorities.

The investigation also took authorities into Birmingham. It's estimated there are about 15-20 active prostitutes in the organization.

Denise Richards has been arrested for promoting prostitution. Stac Team investigator Jim Winn says Richards was running the operation, collecting money and active in arranging dates between women and those requesting services.

Police are looking for Ann Higdon, they say she is the head of the organization. They have a warrant for her arrest for promoting prostitution.

As of Friday evening, investigators were writing a search warrant for another business suspected of promoting prostitution. Those premises could be searched as early as Friday evening.
