HARVEST, AL (WAFF) - Two people are injured after a pick-up truck caught fire after running off the road early Sunday morning.

Officials say Daniel Pace was driving his truck north on Carter Gin Road in Harvest with a 28-year-old female passenger.

Pace was apparently driving too fast and lost control when he came to a bend in the road. His vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree.

Pace said he noticed his vehicle was on fire when he got out. The female passenger was not wearing her seat belt at the time and had sustained injuries that prevented her from being able to get out of the vehicle.

Two people saw the accident and stopped to help. They were able to pull the female passenger out of the vehicle.

Shortly after the female was pulled out of the truck, it became fully involved with flames.

Harvest and Toney volunteer firefighters responded to the scene. They were able to put the fire out.

The female was transported to Huntsville Hospital to treat her injuries. Pace suffered only minor injuries.
