FRANKLIN COUNTY, AL (WAFF) - The Franklin County Sheriff is asking for your help to catch those responsible for a string of burglaries.

Deputies have worked nearly 30 cases across the county in the last few months. They said thieves are hitting homes at random throughout the county.

"Mainly they're happening on Sundays when they're gone to church and then sporadically throughout the week," said Sheriff Shannon Oliver.

Sheriff Oliver said the numbers are increasingly high for this time of year. He said the burglars are taking everything from electronics to jewelry and even furniture.

"What bothers me more than anything is people are scared to leave home because they're afraid they'll steal their stuff and they're scared when they're at home because they're afraid they'll come in on them and to me that is just sad, people have to live that way because of a thief," he said.

Sheriff Oliver said his department is committed to fighting back, but they need your help.

"We want to offer a reward depending on the information they have that leads to an arrest we want to see these people put in jail," he said.

Police officials said if anyone notices something suspicious in their area or have any information on any of the crimes to call the Franklin County Sheriff's Department.
