Two Madison County babies celebrate unique birthdays on 11-11-11

Two Madison County babies are celebrating very special birthdays.

Maliyah Linora of New Market was born at Huntsville Hospital at exactly 11:11 a.m. on 11-11-11.

She wasn't due until the 21st but decided she was ready to make her debut on this very unique date. Maliyah weighed in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces and is 18 inches long. Mother and baby are doing just fine.

Little Maliyah shares her birthday with another little guy who has several connections to the number "11", besides his birthday. Keith Aaron Hastie of Huntsville came into this world a week earlier than expected on 11-11-11.

Mom Louise Hastie already knows the date well.

"My brother's birthday is today, too. He was born 11-11-83," she said.

Proud grandma Kay Johnson said 11 is sure to be Keith's lucky number.

"This is my 11th grandchild, born on 11-11-11," Johnson said.

But that's not all, little Keith is also his great-grandmother's 11th great grandchild.

Though their 11-11-11 births were not at all planned, Maliyah and Keith now have great stories to share when they get a little older.

Keith's family was also excited that he was born on Veterans Day. He comes from a long line of military servicemen and women.
