Krystal employee struggles to cope with murders

DECATUR, AL (WAFF) - Co-workers at the Decatur Krystal are trying to make sense of what happened Wednesday morning.

One employee said she never saw the suspects or victims ever get into an argument and that's why she's still in disbelief about the murders.

"Just wish I could wake up from the horrible nightmare and I could go to work and I could see them."

The employee, who asked not to be identified, said she met suspects Jordaan Creque, Cassandra Eldred and victims Jeff Graff, and Jesse Aguilar while working at the fast food restaurant.

"I am afraid I could've been one of those victims, but everyone there is afraid they could've been one of those victims. They could've come in on every shift."

The employee said she constantly interacted with Creque and Eldred during work. She never saw any signs of trouble.

"It just makes you wonder how long they'd been planning this, and how long this had been going on in their head. Were they under the influence of drugs or alcohol? Were the sober?" She commented. "We're always going to wonder the next time we stick our head out the drive thru window or someone walks in 'Are they going to kill us? Are they going to shoot us? Are they like Jordaan? Are they like Cassandra?'"

The restaurant is set to reopen next week.

Visitation for 50-year-old Jeffery Graff from Huntsville will be Saturday, August 27th at Madison Chapel at 7 p.m. A memorial service will be Sunday at 2pm at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Madison.

Visitation for 23-year-old Jessie Aguilar from Decatur will be Sunday at Ridout's Brown Service Funeral Home at 11 am. The funeral will follow visitation at 1 p.m. Burial will be at the Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur.
