The Huntsville City Board of Education met Thursday to discuss several positions that need to be filled.
There were three items on the agenda.
One being the hiring of a Director of Community Engagement and Partnership Development. Dr. Wardynski said the idea for that position came from public input.
"The district needs somebody who's focus is to engage the community and create partnerships help write grants form grants," said Dr. Wardynski.
He said this job replaces a vacant communication position. This new position Dr. Wardynski said will help form partnerships within the community.
The school system Thursday also hired 18 teachers, however, there are still 15-20 teaching jobs to fill. Dr. Wardynski said that process is a matter of paperwork that will likely be taken care of during the next board meeting.
