Huntsville firefighters battle blaze at County Inn Suites Hotel

HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire at the Country Inn and Suites hotel off University Drive Wednesday night.

It happened around 10:40 p.m. Fire officials say two balconies on the second floor caught on fire. It then spread to the third floor damaging two rooms and to the attic. One young hotel guest saw the fire and warned his family.

"I yelled, 'get out of the bed! There's a fire!' So they get out of the bed. My mom comes over to the window looks up and sees the third floor engulfed in flames and she says, 'get of the building just go.'"

Several other rooms also sustained smoke damage. There were no injuries.
