HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Huntsville Police are investigating a murder on Lowry Street.
They said a secretary walked into work at 8:00 Friday morning and found the body of her supervisor, 60-year-old Herbert Gray. Police said he was shot.
Gray was the owner of Graytronix Systems Inc., a local electronics repair shop, which was where the murder happened.
The secretary said the door to the building was unlocked and the alarm was off, which she said was unusual. She said she found Gray in his office on the floor. That's when she called 911.
"I can tell you we have no suspect, we're still trying to piece together exactly what happened, and the timeline and those sort of details," said Sgt. Mickey Allen, Huntsville Police.
While the details of Gray's death are sorted out, a congregation is in mourning.
Reverend Sara Cameron at Lakeside United Methodist church said Gray had been a member of the church for the past couple of years.
She said he was very active and would lead church fundraisers, sing in the choir, and he even helped secure funds for one of their church vans.
Gray was a certified lay speaker in the Methodist church. He was also former trustee at Alabama A&M University.
