TRINITY, Ala. (WAFF) - The preliminary cause of death was released Friday for a Morgan County woman previously reported missing in July.

According to the Morgan County Coroner’s Office, the death of Taylor Haynes is listed as a suicide.

On Aug. 8, investigators located a female body in Trinity. Around 3:45 that afternoon, Morgan County Coroner Jeff Chun confirmed that the body found was Haynes. Deputies detained two people in the area of the search. One of those was released while the other was later arrested on unrelated warrants.

The original missing person report was filed in Decatur for Haynes on July 8.

Shania Casey was a co-worker of Haynes at a nursing home until 2020. Casey remembers Haynes as a very kind woman who always had a smile on her face.

“I knew Taylor it was close to three years,” Casey said. “We worked together at the nursing home, she was very kind-hearted she didn’t let anything phase her from what I remember of her. She was very positive and just kept the positive out of everything.”

The family has been notified of the results. The investigation remains active as investigators await the final autopsy results.
