2 Alabama players selected in first round of 2022 NFL Draft

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - The first round of the 2022 NFL Draft was held in Las Vegas, Nevada Thursday night.

With the 7th pick in the draft, the New York Giants selected University of Alabama OT Evan Neal.

With the 12th pick in the draft, the Detroit Lions selected University of Alabama WR Jameson Williams.

According to the University of Alabama, head coach Nick Saban has now produced 46 first round draft picks in his career, including 41 for the Crimson Tide.

Those 41 first rounders include:

• 2010 - Rolando McClain (No. 8, Oakland), Kareem Jackson (No. 20, Houston)

• 2013 – Dee Milliner (No. 9, New York Jets), Chance Warmack (No. 10, Tennessee), D.J. Fluker (No. 11, San Diego)

According to the Crimson Tide athletics department, Alabama has had at least one player selected in the first round of each NFL Draft since 2009.

The 2022 NFL Draft continues Friday night, April 29, 2022 at 6 p.m. It will conclude Saturday, April 30, 2022.
