Athens City Schools mask mandate will remain in place through end of school year

ATHENS, Ala. (WAFF) - Athens City Schools will continue requiring masks for students and staff until the end of the school year.

School officials announced the policy would remain Tuesday morning ahead of the statewide mandate expiration on April 9.

According to the system’s release, all other safety precautions including social distancing, visitor restrictions and sanitizing protocols and measures will remain in place until the end of the school year.
