Man and woman arrested for possession of controlled substance, drug paraphernalia

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Decatur police officers arrested one man and woman for possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia during a traffic stop on January 11.

According to officers, investigators with the Decatur Police Department Drug Unit pulled a vehicle over for a traffic violation in the 1300 block of Point Mallard Parkway. The two individuals in the car were identified as Shannon Turner and Brittany Parker.

Authorities said investigators found heroin, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and money.

WAFF is told Turner was charged with distribution of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and improper lane usage. He is currently being held at the Morgan County Jail on a $6,300 bond.

Parker was charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked into the Morgan County Jail with bond currently set at $1,300.
