HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) -After the holiday season, the COVID-19 testing is in high demand across the county and right here in north Alabama.
And the wait time is reflecting that.
The director of the Fever and Flu Clinic Emily Lambert tells us, they are testing more than 200 people on average each day.
It’s all first come, first serve.
So, if you show up to the site and the parking lot is full, someone will take your number and call you when it’s ok to come back.
Lambert says that happened twice Monday and people are waiting up to two hours in their cars before it’s their turn.
“Busy. Ever since the second week of November we’ve almost doubled our volume. We’re seeing a lot of family members testing positive because they just got tired of being isolated. Got together over the holidays and now they’re whole family is positive,” Lambert said.
Lambert says it’s taking about five days for people to get those results back.
