BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Several rumors and reports broke Tuesday afternoon that COVID-19 concerns out of Ohio State may lead to the postponement of the College Football Playoff National Championship game Monday, January 11 against Alabama.

WBRC FOX6 News confirmed that for now the game is on.

College Football Playoff executive director Bill Hancock said, “There are no changes to report. The game is scheduled Jan. 11 as planned and we look forward to it.”

Ohio State Athletic Director Gene Smith said, “Game is still on.” “We continue to follow the same protocols as we have all season. Our goal is to play January 11th!”

Alabama AD Greg Byrne also posted on Twitter Tuesday:

Alabama takes on Ohio State Monday, January 11 at 7:00 p.m.
