LINCOLN COUNTY, TN. (WAFF) - Another nursing home in the Tennessee Valley is being impacted by COVID-19.

According to officials with the Lincoln Health System, 64 residents at the Donalson Care Center in Lincoln County have tested positive for COVID-19. As of November 16th, 10 residents died due to complications with the virus.

We’re told two of the people who passed away actually recovered from the disease, but were still battling complications from it.

We first told you about the outbreak at the beginning of November when 41 cases were reported.

In a statement released from the nursing home on Monday, out of the 64 residents who tested positive, 37 of those people have recovered.

To add to those numbers, 36 staff members have also tested positive during the course of this outbreak. Twenty-six employees who previously tested positive have already returned to work.

Officials with the Donalson Care center say they follow guidelines set by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid to determine when an affected employee is able to return to work.

These guidelines include being quarantined for 10 days, fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications, and improvement in respiratory symptoms.
