(WAFF) - Get your sweet tooth ready because today is the "Sweetest Day!” Yes, that’s a real day -- celebrated on the third Saturday in October.
It started in 1921 when candy manufacturers wanted to put smiles on people’s faces and gave out 20-thousand boxes of candy to orphans and the elderly.
Since then, it’s become a day to care for those you love by offering up something sweet! So, if you needed an excuse to bake some treats today... this is it.
