Emergency crews extinguish morning house fire in New Market

The latest on an overnight house fire in New Market

NEW MARKET, Ala. (WAFF) - A house fire in Madison county had emergency crews rushing to help Wednesday morning.

WAFF was first on the scene at Humphrey Drive in New Market, just off Arnold Road.

The fire resulted in no injuries.

Crews from New Market, Moores Mill, Hazel Green, and Meridianville all responded to offer assistance.

New Market’s Fire Chief Wendell Jones confirmed the family was able to safely escape the house. Fire crews used chainsaws and hoses to battle hot spots since around 3 a.m.

The Red Cross will be assisting the family in finding a place to stay while they are displaced from their home.
